About me
My name is Ruben Platte, and I’m a designer from Amsterdam with a passion for creating meaningful, intuitive products. I believe good design is human-centered, solves real problems and enhances the lives of its users.
From 2013 to 2016 I worked at Olery as a Product Designer. In 2017 and 2018 I did internships at Digital Natives and Momkai. After both internships I continued working at those agencies as Junior Designer. Last year I co-founded and designed voicelink.fm, a product aiming to make podcasts more social.
In my free time you can find my pulling on plastic at my local bouldering gym, planning bikepacking trips or listening to electronic music and jazz.
Work
Last year I co-founded a company based on my graduation project. After interviewing many podcasters we came up with a challenge: how can we make podcasts more social? Through iterating extensively and doing many usability tests, we came up with an answer to this challenge: voicelink.fm, an easy to use, web-based service that allows podcasters to receive voice messages and engage their listeners.
Momkai
Momkai is a design studio that builds brands and platforms that serve a purpose. As a UX Design intern I facilitated workshops, designed a new homepage for KNVB, and designed a cross-platform app and tested it with real users for KNWU. Unfortunately I can't show any of this work, but I'm happy to talk about it over a cup of coffee.
Digital Natives is a digital agency working on projects for forward thinking companies. During my Design internship I worked on projects for clients such as Dag en Nacht, Max&Luna and NDSM. We worked closely together with clients, discussing and presenting progress at least once a week.
Olery develops reputation management solutions for the hospitality industry. I worked on numerous projects ranging from website redesigns to running design sprints, and from designing data-driven reports to coming up with new icons. We would always use a lean approach when working on projects.
