My name is Ruben Platte, and I’m a designer from Amsterdam with a passion for creating meaningful, intuitive products. I believe good design is human-centered, solves real problems and enhances the lives of its users.
From 2013 to 2016 I worked at Olery as a UX designer. In 2017 I worked as an intern at Digital Natives and later went on to work as a Junior UX Designer. I’m currently doing a minor in Communication Design in Berlin. In my free time I enjoy rock climbing, nature, music, baking bread and photography.
This year I did my first freelance project for INCMD, a network of 10 HBO bachelor programmes. The client had an outdated website and I got to work with them on a redesign. Using what I learned during my internship at Digital Natives, I delivered a modern and more functional design.
Digital Natives is a digital agency working on projects for forward thinking companies. During my UX design internship I worked on projects for clients such as Dag en Nacht, Max&Luna and NDSM. We worked closely together with clients, discussing and presenting progress at least once a week.
Olery develops reputation management solutions for the hospitality industry. I worked on numerous projects ranging from website redesigns to running design sprints, and from designing data-driven reports to coming up with new icons. We would always use a lean UX approach when working on projects.
Jour was a side project I started in 2014. I was looking for a very simple journaling app but when I could only find ones with many unnecessary features I decided to design my own.
Tegenlicht Second Screen Show more »
For a school assignment I designed a second screen experience for the Dutch TV show Tegenlicht. It gets users more involved with the show even when it’s not on air.
