About me

My name is Ruben Platte, and I’m a designer with a passion for creating meaningful, intuitive products. I believe good design is functional, solves real problems and enhances the lives of its users.

From 2013 to 2016 I worked at Olery as a UX designer. This year I did a 6 month internship at Digital Natives. I’m currently studying Communication & Multimedia Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. In my free time I enjoy rock climbing, nature, music, baking bread and photography.

Olery Show more »

Olery develops reputation management solutions for the hospitality industry. I worked on numerous projects ranging from website redesigns to running desing sprints, and from designing data-driven reports to coming up with new icons. We would always use a lean UX approach when working on projects.

Jour Show more »

Jour was a side project I started in 2014. I was looking for a very simple journaling app but when I could only find ones with many unnecessary featerus I decided to design my own.

Tegenlicht Second Screen Show more »

For a school assignment I designed a second screen experience for the Dutch TV show Tegenlicht. It gets users more involved with the show even when it’s not on air.

Animated Dutch Icons

For a Motion Design course I decided to design and animate three icons inspired by the dutch.

Sourdough Explanimation

When I got obsessed by baking my own sourdough bread I wanted to share the interesting process. That’s why I made this short ‘explanimation’.

I'm always open to new opportunities. Want to talk? Let's get in touch.
